Architect Jason Elliott Purdy designed the “spaceship” house for Clarence and Louise Lederhos who constructed the dome in 1978. “For some reason, I always wanted to live in a round house,” said Louise Lederhos in an interview. “But it was the energy efficiency that drew us to this design.” In 2016, they sold their home. Today, it’s on the market again.

The dome home is 2,500 square feet with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious great room, an open kitchen, a sunk-in seating area with wood stove. Under the center skylight is a tall, gorgeous oak bookshelf that spans the arched doorway to the bedrooms beyond.

The house sits on nearly three acres and includes a three-car garage with a 1,000 square foot apartment above it. There is also a horse corral, goat shed, and a chicken coop. The entire plot is fenced and includes a pond and a deep-water well.

The home is listed for $870,000 with Vicki Black at Engel & Volkers Denver. Visit the listing page, 1970s Monolithic Dome for sale or contact Vicki Black directly via email (vicki.black@engelvoelkers.com) or phone (720-692-6563). [SOLD]
