OMEGAball

the Final Ball, the Greatest Game!

WARNING: OMEGAball is highly addictive.

It was 100 degrees outside on July 4th, 1980 in Menan, Idaho. The town was having a huge celebration complete with a flag-raising, sunrise breakfast, booths, games, parade, fireworks and a dance.

Normally, at an occasion such as this, the kids would be running around competing in the three-legged race and bean-bag toss, and the adults would be relaxing under the big shade trees, but not this year. No, this year the adults were sweating and running under the sun the same as the kids. The adults were playing OMEGAball!

OMEGAball is a game no one can resist. It requires very few fine motor skills so it appeals to a wide variety of people!

What is a OMEGAball?

“OMEGAball” stands for Oversized, Monolithic, Enormous, Gigantic, Airformed Ball. An OMEGAball comes in three sizes: 6’, 8’ and 10’. They are constructed using the same material we use to build the Monolithic Dome. We use super tough 22 oz. nylon reinforced PVC fabric. These are substantial toys, but not TOO terribly heavy.

The OMEGA-6 is lightest at 20 lbs. It is quickest to inflate and/or deflate. It is a good size for young adults who could be over-powered by the larger balls. It is also a good size for smaller numbers of players (3 to 6 on each side) and/or a smaller field of play.

The OMEGA-8 is probably our most popular size. It is large enough to present quite a challenge to a broad cross-section of adults. For maximum fun, the maximum amount of players on each side would be around 10. It weighs in at 35 lbs.

The OMEGA-10 is the ultimate. Six to a dozen people can be on each team. The ball can be pushed as fast as people can run. It can also be thrown up high in the air by teammates from both sides simultaneously. The OMEGA-10 weighs 50 lbs.

How do you play OMEGAball?

  • Object: Push the ball over the other team’s goal line.
  • Length of Game: To be determined by the stamina of team players.
  • Points System: To be established by team members. Can include extra points for opposing team members who pass out.
  • Acceptable defense/offense: No sharp objects.
  • Fouls: A foul will be given to any player who causes another player to cry. Fouls are also given to the player who does the crying. The foul penalty is determined prior to play.

Basically you inflate an OMEGAball, put it in the middle of a field and the fun will ensue. OMEGAballs are very receptive to input and are easily pushed, tossed and rolled across the field. Adults of average height can see over the OMEGA-6 except at dead center. The OMEGA-8 and OMEGA-10 present you with much amusement as you can have a difficult time seeing where you are going and/or other team members headed your way.

A “referree” with a whistle MUST be appointed prior to play. Potentially dangerous accidents have been prevented by an “official” who stopped action when it was needed.

OMEGAballs are somehow drawn to freeways and bodies of water, so please refrain from playing on high-wind days.

In the beginning, we called this game “Warball.” Anyone who has ever played Warball or the more “sophisticated” OMEGAball will tell you it’s a game where the very most energy is exherted, and goes unnoticed because of the fun-factor. You’ll get more of a workout playing OMEGAball than you will ever get with a football. And we swear you won’t even notice – until the next day.

Any vacuum with a reverse switch will inflate an OMEGAball. Use of air compressors is not recommended as it is easy to over-inflate the OMEGAball, which will shorten its lifespan.

OMEGA-6: 6’ OMEGAball: $325.00
OMEGA-8: 8’ OMEGAball: $495.00
OMEGA-10: 10’ OMEGAball: $625.00
