Utah dome home open house Nov. 5th

After three years of planning and construction, the Arcadia Monolithic Dome home is being completed and will hold an open house on Saturday November 5th. The public is invited to tour the home starting at 10 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m.

The home is located at 115 Canyon Road in Providence, Utah. For entry into the open house, the homeowners ask that each visitor donate $2 or a nonperishable food item; all proceeds will be given directly to the local food bank.

This is the first building of its kind in Cache Valley, and interest in the home design has been high since construction started. Located on an elevated corner in the west side of the valley, it is seen by many driving through.

“We’ve had so much interest in the house,” stated homeowner Dave South. “People have been asking us for months when the open house will be. We’re excited to show the community the benefits of a Monolithic Dome home.”

Rather than simply being an open house, the event will also be a fundraiser for the local food bank, the Cache Community Food Pantry. With the winter months and holidays approaching, this is a critical time for food donations. The food pantry is located in Logan and serves 140 families from across the valley each week.

“We hope this will be beneficial to the food pantry,” South said. “There are people in this valley would could use the assistance and we’re just doing our part to help.”

The South family has been building this home for more than three years. It has been a large project and they are excited to move into their new place. For more on their journey, read ‘Shell complete for Arcadia Monolithic Dome.’
