A busy, busy place!
That’s Woodhaven Stable. Located in Allen, Texas — a northern suburb of Dallas — Woodhaven offers instruction and activities for young horseback riding enthusiasts. Owner Jean Schooping said that, besides riding lessons, play days, parents’ night out and birthday parties, they offer a Monday-to-Friday day camp for both boys and girls.
It’s not an igloo!
Recently, Woodhaven ordered a Model 19 Monolithic Cabin for its site. Jean said, "One of the big reasons why I wanted it was as a disaster shelter. I used to really panic when I had 30 kids in my care, and we got a storm or tornado warning. Now I can just scoot them into the cabin. And the parents don’t have to be worried to death about what’s happening to their kids.
“The kids keep calling it an igloo,” Jean laughed. “I keep insisting it’s a cabin, but they still call it an igloo. They like it. It gives them a cool, comfortable place in which to do crafts or watch teaching videos.”
Security for her too!
Jean said that she lives in a double-wide mobile that does not make her feel safe when threatening weather hits. “Now I’ve got a safe place to go to too,” she concluded.
